What Really Happened To Tupac’s Wife After His Death

It will be 21 years this September since Tupac Shakur died after being shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada. The artist’s music is still relevant to day, speaking of social issues such as racism, police brutality, poverty, and inner city life. In fact, many of today’s hip hop artists credit Tupac as being a great influence in their lives.

Perhaps less known about Tupac is his personal romantic life. He was married once but the union ended within a short time. Nonetheless, the woman that was once his wife credits the rapper for shaping her into the woman she is today.

Keisha Morris was only 20 years old when she met Tupac Shakur in 1994.

She revealed to XXL magazine how they met at the club Capitol in New York. The rapper and the young woman spoke about legal troubles he was going through where she proceeded to tell him to be careful.

According to Morris, Tupac told her he spent the next month going to different clubs.

He was hoping to run into her again. After they saw each other again, Tupac invited her to his hotel room. She declined the offer.

Nonetheless, Tupac was persistent.

He gave his new friend his number. She didn’t have a mobile at the time so she gave him her house number.

He gave her his SkyPager.

“The next day, I had to go work…and he called me when I got home. I was in shock! We started talking from that day on,” Morris said.

Tupac was facing legal troubles from a sexual assault charge from 1993.

Tupac would eventually be convicted of first-degree sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 1.5 to 4.5 years in prison. Tupac claimed his innocence all along.

While the two were dating, Morris worked as a camp counselor.

She was also attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
