Seventy-five-year-old Gerry Suttle of Riesel, Texas, owns a large piece of property. But when the grass on this property to grew higher than the 18 inches that the town by-laws allow, she was sent a summons to appear in court. However, Gerry claims that she never received the summons, and when she failed to appear in court, a warrant was issued for her arrest!
Gerry lives in Riesel, Texas, where a local law bans residents from letting their grass get more than 18 inches (45 cm) tall.
After a while, police noticed this and issued her with a court date, but unfortunately, Gerry never saw this, so they made a warrant for her arrest.
News of this quickly spread around town and when four young boys heard about this, they knew what they had to do.
They each brought a lawnmower and gardening tools to her house, sneaked inside and began to cut the grass and weeds. When other local residents saw what was happening they all joined in, and within a few hours, the work was complete.
After this heroic deed, Gerry said:”I am very seldom without words. This is one time. You might want to mark it down in history that I didn’t have something to say,”
