He Pours Dish Soap Into The Toilet. The Reason? I Had No Idea This Was Possible

I don’t know about you, but there is nothing worse than that “OH NO!” sinking feeling when you realize that you, or someone else, has clogged the toilet!  The usual option is to get the plunger and start the absolutely gagworthy task of trying to plunge the mess.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t, but you are always left with the gross plunger that needs to be cleaned and disinfected.  Just thinking about it makes me cringe.  When I came upon this “NO PLUNGER” solution offered in the video you are about to watch below, offered by Build.com, I had to share it!

The method works 90% of the time, which is good enough odds for me, if I don’t have to deal with the dreaded plunger!  The fact that the remedy is a clean one is even better…Liquid Dish washing Soap

Here’s what you’ll need and what you’ll need to do to get your toilet running smoothly again.


  • Liquid Dish Soap.


Step one: Pour a healthy amount of liquid soap into your toilet bowl, about half a cup. The soap is denser and heavier than water and should drop to the bottom of the bowl.


Step two: Let the liquid dish soap sit in the bowl for 20-30 minutes. Over time the soap will seep into the clog lubricating the trap way.
